1. Who are Bay Rings?

Bay Rings is a family based company that has been trading in jewellery for over 60 years and in 2006 the online division of the company was established.

We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, first-class fair trading, and our many satisfied customers across UK and Europe are testimony to our superior offers and value for your gold.

2. How good are your prices compared to the rest of the market?

We guarantee the best prices currently on the market.

  • We are the only Gold buyers in the UK who will offer 100% of the daily Gold market value for your Goods, when you trade in your Gold for upgrade to new Jewellery.
  • We have no costly overheads as incurred by the High Street shops.
  • We don’t run costly TV advertisements, or offer you free Post packs, as these inevitably effect the price offered to the customer.

3. What items do you buy?

We buy Gold or Platinum items. A list of the articles we do and don't buy can be found in our What We Buy section. We accept broken, damaged and incomplete pieces. There's no need to clean or sort your items before sending them to us.

4. I don’t know what carat my gold is.

You don't need to know the exact type or carat weight of your gold before sending it to us. Even if the items are un-hallmarked, our expertly trained team will test all items on receipt, using specialised equipment to establish any different gold grades and value them accordingly.

5. I don't know how much my gold weighs.

You don't need to weigh your items before sending them. We have specialised digital weighing equipment to accurately weigh your items.

6. Do you buy items containing Diamonds or other gemstones?

We will only make offers for substantial Diamonds and Gemstones in prime condition. However as on most occasions the cost to remove the Gemstones from their settings will far outweigh its value to us, therefore they have no intrinsic value. If you have an item that contains stones which you believe to be valuable, or of sentimental value we recommend removing the stone(s) prior to sending it in to us.

7. How do I send the goods to you?

Collect all the Gold, Platinum, Coins and Jewellery you wish to send us, then place all the items with a note of your reference number into a padded bag and seal it.

Take your package to your nearest Post Office and send it to the address provided, via Royal Mail Special Delivery. Ensure your package has the right level of insurance to the value of the Goods you are sending.

8. How will I know when my package has safely arrived at your premises?

We will contact you to confirm receipt of parcel. If you post your goods via Royal Mail you can track the progress of your package from the time you post it to the time we receive it. Simply visit the Royal Mail website and enter the tracking number of your parcel, which you will find on your proof of postage receipt.

9. How and when will you send the offer to buy the goods?

Within 2 days of receiving your items, we will process your jewellery. Our expert jewellers use the latest techniques to ascertain the gold and precious metal content, based on that day's precious metal markets, and will submit to you, via phone or email our best price offer.

Our offer will always include two options

  • Option A – Trade-in

We will offer you 100% value of your gold for a trade-in and upgrade on a new wedding ring, engagement ring or any other item within our beautiful jewellery range.

  • Option B – Cash value

We always offer cash as an alternative, the value of cash is based on the gold content of your items and the current market value subject to refining costs.

10. How do I get paid and how quickly?

If you are happy with either of our offers and are ready to proceed we will arrange payment immediately. We can deposit funds straight into your account, send a cheque or even cash to your address, or if you wish to upgrade your jewellery, we will send you the voucher code to use for purchase of any product from our website.

11. Are your prices guaranteed?

The offer to purchase your Gold will be valid for 24 hours, after that time we may need to change the price we can offer, due to fluctuations in the market price for Gold.

12. What if I change my mind?

If you change your mind before or after sending your goods to us, you can cancel your request at any time until you have notified us that you have accepted our offer. In this case we will return your goods at no cost to you.
